One of the interesting side projects we are currently working on is a project that produces tree hollows and nest boxes from used paper. Such a product can provide habitat in a young forest which has not had the time to form its own natural tree hollows. The tree hollows can be placed in trees, or on the forest floor to add to the structural complexity of any forest.
The material we have has excellent properties, such as a very high strength and durability, fire resistant, water resistant and it is non-toxic. Although this product can also be made from hemp fiber and other products, we think it’s a great concept to turn used paper back into tree hollows!
We are currently looking for people who would like to buy and try some of these out in their forests, or people who would like to help support the startup of such a project. Please contact us if you are interest.
