I was walking through the forest with my daughter yesterday to look at some of the cascading water flowing in the creek as a result of the heavy rains over the last few days. We were in subtropical rainforest over 300 m above sea level and to my surprise we spotted a large blue and white crayfish submerged in water under a large boulder! Unfortunately we did not have a camera with us however I was able identify it as a Lamington crayfish (Euastacus sulcatus). Quite an interesting looking creature. I don’t think I will go exploring without my camera again! Luckily, we went back a couple of months later and seen a couple more and managed to get a good picture of this amazing creature!
